Thought I would share these portraits of students graduating from LHÍ. Incredible to work with 150 students over the course of the week and produce results that everyone (seemingly) were happy with.

Happy New Year to everyone except those who work in Alþingi. Do a better job of representing everyone, not just the wealthy. As an immigrant that is forced to pay attention because of your incompetence, I am privileged enough to understand just how bad you are at your job. Do better for those who don’t have the privilege to know how you are failing them.

ROF by Sveinbjörg Þórhallsdóttir
Halla Þórðardóttir danced this piece beautifully the other night. I was in the audience, photographing from a stationary seat as were the constraints of the gig, working as the Reykjavík Dance Festival’s photographer for the 5th year in a row. Sometimes I am able to watch run-throughs and move around and other times, I have to get the right seat so that I can make the most of the show while not interrupting the enjoyment of others. This was a mighty task, as the music was not the loudest and lighting was on the dim side. Still, the above photo is one of my favourites from this past iteration of the festival.

Sketches
This day was a fun one when we had some horses in the garden at Ásmundarsalur and people were invited to come and sketch using the horses as the models. I made use of the balcony above and shot this overhead of a few people relaxing while enjoying this gorgeous day.

Helix
Taken in October last year, this photo is from a building in Reykjavik called Perlan. The building is made of five water tanks that have been linked by glass walls and have a restaurant and café at the top. It's a fun and gimmicky place to go, a bit like a less cool Griffith Observatory. This is one of my favorite compositions of random items to make something that looks like something else. It always reminds me of DNA.
