VISUAL Diary
An attempt to subvert social media and stay in touch with those around me. Remember when Instagram was for sharing photos?

Wicklow Mountains, Ireland
When I was composing this photograph I was frustrated that Kira and Pat had leapt into the foreground of the space and it was not until I was able to sit down and edit that I realized they added a certain dynamic to the shot that otherwise was missing in my other frames of the moment. Their excitement to see the sight puts some perspective on the grandeur of the mountains here in this exceptionally beautiful land. If not for their exuberance, the shot would not have come out how it did, and thus, they can be credited as saving the shot.

Tvísöngur
“Tatooine gone green” & “They look like Hornet’s Nests” were the two comments that I couldn’t have come up with myself as better captions for this photo. This sound sculpture is in my favorite town in Iceland, called Seyðisfjörður. It is actually quite a long hike from the town itself and offers a pretty stunning view when you get up there, as you can imagine.

Boat
19 minutes past midnight on a Friday going into Saturday; walking home post working a photo gig and this colossus was staring right at me. Something mighty in the size of a boat in a drydock. The majesty of it all, being bathed in the light of a new day, a slight amber glow from the sun setting or possibly coming up in the north eastern sky.
