The Princess is Seven

I have a seven year old daughter and she’s pretty amazing. As such, we had an incredible birthday party for her and spent the whole day making her life as perfect as possible. I spent the morning experimenting with a gel and my flash, trying to create some cool looks by placing the gel directly in front of the flash so that the light it cast would be different colours depending on where it went through the gel.

Out on a photo walk and encountering scenes that you don’t really expect in the middle of downtown Reykjavík. I have my flash permanently attached these days, for the flash fill it creates and the highlights it can bring to shadows during the day.

Been on a great run of being outside lately, taking a Saturday to go to the beach really felt nice. The reflection on the wet sand really connected this photograph to the moment.
